Menus and categories

You build each location's menu with its categories, in the order your customers see them, and put the products in each one.

Menu holds your business's menus and the locations each one shows at. Each new restaurant comes with its own menu, empty, named after the location.

Who can: everyone sees the menu. The owner, the admins and anyone with a custom role that has "Product catalog: Edit" change it.

A product is a single product even when it's in several categories or menus: if you change its price, it changes in all of them. Products are edited in Products.

The menus

The list shows each menu, the locations that use it and how many categories and products it has.

  • New menu: enter the name and tap Create menu. Only your team sees the name: customers see the location's name.
  • Archive: the menu can no longer be assigned to a location. Its categories and products stay as they are. While a location uses it, it can't be archived.
  • Reactivate: it's active again.

Tap Edit to open a menu. The top says which locations use it: changes show at all of them.

The categories

  1. Under New category, enter the name (for example, Burgers) and tap Add.
  2. Order them with the up and down arrows: that's the order your customers see them in.
  3. Tap a category to see its products. Below, you can change its name and its Description (it appears under the name, on the customers' menu) and tap Save.

Archive category takes it off the menu; its products stay in any other categories they're in. Archived categories are listed separately, under Archived, with Reactivate: it comes back in the same position.

A category's products

  • Add an existing product: choose it from the list and tap Add.
  • Or create a new one here: name and price, then Create product. It goes in this category; fill in the rest on its page.
  • Order them with the up and down arrows.
  • Remove from category takes it out of this category but doesn't delete it: it stays in Products and in the other categories.

To change the menu's name, use Rename, at the end of the page.
