# Change someone's roles

> You change a person's roles, their location access and the locations where they work.

**Who can:** the owner, with anyone; an admin, with anyone who isn't an admin or the owner. Nobody changes their own roles.

## Step by step

1. In [Team](/en/guia/equipo), tap **Edit** in the person's row.
2. Change what you need:
   - **Roles**: one or more; each role adds its permissions.
   - **Location access**: **All locations** or **Assigned locations only**.
   - **Locations where they work**: with "Assigned locations only", these are the only ones they reach.
3. Tap **Save changes**.

The changes apply right away. Admins always reach every location, whatever their location access says.

If the person also works at an archived location, that assignment stays as it is and is listed separately.

## If you don't see the form

The page tells you why:

- **You can't change your own roles or locations**: ask someone else who runs the business.
- **Nobody can change or remove the owner of the business**: ownership only changes through a [transfer](/en/guia/transferir-propiedad).
- **Only the owner can change or remove an admin.**

If you see **There are no changes to save**, what you chose is what they already had.

## Other messages

| Message                                       | What happened and what to do                          |
| --------------------------------------------- | ----------------------------------------------------- |
| Only the owner can give the admin role        | Choose another role, or ask the owner.                |
| One of the roles you chose no longer exists   | Someone deleted it. Reload the page and choose again. |
| That person is no longer part of the business | They left or were removed meanwhile. Reload the page. |
